Today's Topic...GPT Sites

GPT...you've seen it all over Online Business sites, but what the heck is it? Well, GPT stands for "Get Paid To". Basically, this means that a GPT will post various "offers" that you will get paid to complete. This can range anywhere from free offers to sign up for information to offers that you will have to pay to sign up for in order to complete. Now, wait..did I just say PAY to sign up for? Yep, you heard me right...pay. Now before you are like, forget that...here's an example. Say a GPT site has an offer for Company A, sign up for their $8 item and you will make $13 from the GPT site...so you've just made $5. But how does this work, you ask? Well, if you read the fine print on Company A's website, you will see that they will auto-ship (and auto-charge) you ever month for that product you just ordered. They are hoping you like the product so much that you continue to receive it, or better yet, forget to cancel it.

Now, GPT sites aren't a bad thing. I actually have made decent money doing this, and there are alot of free offers also, but the key is to follow these tips:

1. Sign up for a separate email account on hotmail, yahoo, etc to complete these offers. Some of the companies that you complete the offer with will sell your email address and you will receive tons of spam.

2. Keep track of the offers you have completed. Two reasons for this...completing the offer multiple times for multiple GPT sites may result in being kicked out the GPT program. The companies that own these GPT sites alot of time own more than one...they'll notice if you keep completing the same offer over and over. And the second reason, if you sign up for a free trial that will charge you in a week or so, you want to cancel BEFORE you get charged.

3. Use a pre-paid Visa card (available at Wal-mart) to sign up for offers. This way they don't have your actual bank information.

4. Use an auto-fill program to fill in forms. It will save you a ton of time! Roboform is a good program, just search the web for it.

5. Always check the Better Business Bureau for information regarding the offer and complaints.

With a little caution, you can make money from GPT sites. I will be listing alot more GPT sites over the next couple of weeks. Just click "GPT" in the right hand column for reviews of all the ones I post. For now here is a review of Treasure Trooper, which is one of my favorite GPT sites:
